The terms and conditions that apply when you use our services.
These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by ADHD Brain Scan UK ("we", "us", "our"), operating from 7 Chelford Road, Handforth, SK9 3SQ. By booking an appointment or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Please read these Terms carefully before booking. If you have any questions, contact us at info@adhdbrainscan.co.uk before proceeding.
We provide private quantitative EEG (qEEG) brain screening services designed to measure brain activity patterns associated with ADHD. Our services include:
Please read this section carefully. It defines the scope and limitations of our service.
Our qEEG brain screening is an objective data collection service, not a medical diagnostic assessment. We measure brain wave activity and compare it against published normative data. We do not diagnose, rule out, or confirm ADHD or any other medical condition. A formal ADHD diagnosis requires comprehensive assessment by a qualified clinician (psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, or specialist ADHD practitioner) including clinical interview, behavioural rating scales, developmental history, and assessment of differential diagnoses.
Our reports are designed to provide objective supplementary data that a qualified clinician can consider alongside their own clinical evaluation. See our GP evidence guide. We do not recommend that anyone make medical, educational, or employment decisions based solely on our screening results.
The EEG equipment used in our screenings is a research-grade device and is not classified as a medical device under UK MDR 2002. Our service operates in the same regulatory category as other UK neurofeedback and brain mapping providers. We are not registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as our service does not constitute a regulated activity under the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
Our screening protocol is based on the theta/beta ratio biomarker referenced in the FDA clearance of the NEBA System (De Novo K112711, 2013) for patients aged 6-17. We reference this clearance as scientific context for the biomarker's validity. Our service is not FDA-cleared, FDA-approved, or affiliated with the NEBA System or its manufacturers.
The clinical interpretation letters provided with our Comprehensive package contain our professional opinion based on the screening data. They are not medical reports, psychiatric assessments, or formal diagnoses. They are designed to assist qualified clinicians in their own assessment process.
Appointments are booked online via our website. Payment is taken in full at the time of booking through Stripe, our secure payment processor. Upon successful payment, you will receive an email confirmation with your appointment details and a link to complete the intake form.
All prices are quoted in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. Prices are as displayed on our pricing page at the time of booking. We reserve the right to change our prices at any time, but changes will not affect bookings already confirmed.
The price of each service includes everything described on the relevant service page. See how it works. There are no hidden fees, setup charges, or additional costs unless you request additional services (e.g. extra copies of reports, amended clinical letters).

If a screening cannot be completed due to equipment failure on our part, you will receive a full refund or free rescheduling.
To ensure the best possible screening, you agree to:
Before any screening begins, you (or the parent/guardian for under-18s) must provide informed consent by completing our intake and consent form. This form explains the nature of the screening, what data is collected, how it is used, the limitations of the service, and your rights regarding your data.
You may withdraw consent and stop the screening at any time during the session, without giving a reason. If you withdraw during the screening, the incomplete session policy in section 6.1 applies.
EEG brain data is classified as special category health data under UK GDPR. We process this data only with your explicit consent. Full details of how we handle your data are set out in our Privacy Policy.
We provide objective brain data, not medical advice. We accept no liability for decisions made by you, your clinician, your employer, or any third party based on our screening results. Our reports are designed as supplementary information and are not a substitute for professional medical assessment.
We take all reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy of our screening equipment, normative comparisons, and report generation. However, EEG measurements are influenced by factors including electrode contact quality, client movement, medication status, fatigue, and caffeine intake. Results represent a snapshot of brain activity under the specific conditions of the recording session.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
