Travelling from Derby to our Handforth clinic is straightforward whichever way suits you best. By train, the most reliable route takes you from Derby into Manchester Piccadilly, then onto a Northern service heading towards Crewe or Stoke — Handforth station is just a five-minute walk from our clinic, with the full journey typically taking around an hour and a half. If you prefer to drive, the M6 northbound joining the M56 towards the airport and then the A34 into Handforth is a comfortable route of roughly an hour fifteen in normal traffic — and you'll be pleased to know that free on-site parking is available when you arrive. A practical tip if you're driving from Derby: leave a little extra time on weekday mornings, as the M56 junction near the airport can slow around school drop-off hours. The whole assessment day is relaxed and unhurried, so there is genuinely no need to rush. You make the journey just the once, and once your report is complete, it is sent electronically directly to your GP and school.
